Louis CK’s Shelter Island home has been listed for sale for $9.25 million. He bought the six-bedroom, five-bathroom waterfront estate at 9 Westmoreland Drive — nicknamed the Primrose Cottage — in 2014 for $2.44 million. The Tudor-style house was originally built in 1901 and was sold with a lot of its original details; the comedian seemed excited about giving it a big renovation, and the biggest difference seems to be in the kitchen, which he also tiled blue and white. Pros include the restored fireplaces, the new Gunite pool and hot tub, and the fact that Babe Ruth once stayed there. Cons include CK’s essence haunting the halls.
The property is just one of many that the comedian has been offloading in recent years. In 2023 he sold his Hudson Square townhouse for $5.8 million, which is less than the $6.5 million he had bought it for over a decade earlier. The year before he sold his Greenwich Village co-op for $1.8 million, a loss from the $2.45 million he bought it for in 2016. The Shelter Island sale could help offset these hits, leaving the “canceled” comedian doing just fine.
